Tuesday 4th June – Windsurf *** The Manor at Felixstowe – cloudy with some heavy rain.

Foil – 18.21 knot max , 16.71 knot ave, 9.22 knot hour, 15.25 knot mile, 34.75 km., 13.51 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storm 6.5 .

The forecast looked promising for a windsurf foil at The Manor end in Felixstowe but the wind was very light first thing so I headed down to Felixstowe Ferry to take some weather pics, then home for breakfast and exercises with the wind picking up at midday so I hitched the trailer and headed down to Squiz Lane with Mag coming along for her daily walk:) I got a good parking spot and waved Mag off as she set off for home and set up my foil board and took it to the beach, with with gusting to 20 mph I nearly rigged 5.5 but went for 6.5 and was glad I did. By the time I launched the wind had eased back and I had a couple of runs with no sign of flying and was considering coming in to change to 7.5. The wind then filled in and I had several 2m plus runs out in a lovely smooth sea with the plus one rear spacer seems to be working well and am keeping the board from hitting the waves but going upwind is still a bit hit and miss not helped by the fact it was wind with tide and I only just had enough sail, perhaps I will have to look into getting a bigger lighter sail with a rdm mast for summer sailing but that could be expensive! Had some good runs but sadly the wind was very up and down but the sea was lovely and smooth despite the fact it was cloudy threatening rain. Then the wind turned slightly off it was time to call it a day so I headed for the shore and it tipped it down while packing up!
